On the surface, Maiden Moon can be difficult: crass, moody, and quick to anger; but, despite at times letting her lesser nature overcome her, underneath her prickliness is a deeply loving, selfless person, who at heart truly desires what is best both for those she is close to and for the world at large. And, perhaps buried even deeper within, only really able to manifest when she is truly comfortable around someone, Maiden Moon can be extremely goofy and strange.

~Background~
༻✧༺
Maiden Moon is the spirit of the Moon, the younger daughter of the Earth and the Sky, Mère Terre and Père Ciel. She was born to be a helper to her sister, Lady Sun, to help light the universe and stave off the Shadows—but she took after her mother, being a being of hard rock instead of a being of light; ultimately, she had to borrow her sister’s light to have any at all. The disappointment surrounding her birth was so great that, in her sorrow at her supposed failure, Maiden Moon cried so much that all the water in the world was born of her tears.
Maiden Moon’s life improved once humanity was created. Feeling more kinship with them, she did all in her power to care for them, and her patron city, Shinanna, was once the most prosperous in all the world. This changed, however, when she fell in love with one of her priestesses, and attempted to abandon her true body to inhabit that of a human so they could be together. She was discovered when the Moon, left soulless, began to rot. While her mother felt she had been punished enough, her father and sister did not agree: and so, they bound her spirit to the Moon for 6,000 years, severing her ability to abandon it again. Mère Terre, feeling pity for her daughter, enchanted the priestess’ necklace so that Maiden Moon could speak with whoever wore it. However, Lady Sun would not allow her even that much, and she thrust the necklace to the far ends of the Earth, not to be discovered again for millenia.
